Safety on Values
Report something
- In the app: tap ··· on any post, then Report this post, and choose what’s wrong. Only the Values team sees who reported it.
- By email: safety@valuesapp.social. We read this every day and act on serious reports the same day.
When three different people report the same post, it’s hidden straight away until a person on our team reviews it.
Block and mute
Tap ··· on someone’s post to mute or block them. Muting hides their posts from you. Blocking also stops them seeing your posts, messaging you or replying at your tables. They aren’t told. You can undo either in Settings.
What we do
- We remove posts that break our house rules, and pause or close accounts that keep breaking them.
- Any threat of violence or death means removal from Values.
- Values is for adults (18+). We remove accounts of anyone younger.
- We report illegal content to the police or the eSafety Commissioner where the law requires or someone is at risk.
Child safety
We do not tolerate any content or behaviour that sexualises, exploits or endangers children. We remove it immediately, close the account, keep the evidence the law requires, and report it to the Australian Centre to Counter Child Exploitation (ACCCE) and, where relevant, the police and the eSafety Commissioner. Report it in the app or at safety@valuesapp.social. You can also report directly to the ACCCE at accce.gov.au/report.
